Most doctors will go with the mainstream advice and advocate a low fat diet, steady state light cardio, prescribe statins and label saturated fat the devil. Through research and science, we can see that literally, almost all the general advice doctors give us seems to be the opposite of all the hardcore data. What’s up with that? The more research we do, the more the mainstream advice starts to crumble.
Halting Research
When you finish school, the last thing you want to do is to continue studying. This is the problem with today’s doctors. They do what is necessary to get their certifications, pass the exams and begin making money with their new career. Unfortunately, there’s always new information becoming available. These doctors quickly become out dated as they continue to follow the mainstream guidelines.
Believing the Data
Most text books that are selected for medical courses are consistent. The material is complementary to each other. There is no conflicting material in the course. Doctors have no reason to question this material. After all, a doctor is there to heal your medical problem, not prevent it from happening. The guidelines are based on medicating, rather than eliminating. Most doctors are not in the prevention paradigm, they are in the medicating paradigm.
Lack of Scientific knowledge
Lets face it. Doctors are not scientists. Doctors study the published results of scientific studies via text books. They have no reason to question those studies. It was up to the text books publishers and the scientist to take that step. Unfortunately, not all studies are created equal. Even some scientist are scientifically illiterate!
So what happens here is that this information becomes mainstream, products are made on its behalf and jobs are now created around the ideas. Now, any conflicting information is seen as a threat to that current establishment, so a war is fought to keep the mainstream, mainstream! This, of course isn’t the doctors fault. What is the doctors fault is cutting off the research.
Doctors shouldn’t be responsible for the research. Unfortunately most doctors don’t know how to do science either. The result is, they don’t question their material or look for conflicting research.

I landed on your blog via Yahoo and was lokniog at some content. You’ve got a great weblog but you need to take into account including a characteristic or two like a subscriber checklist for the members. I have this on my website and people today enjoy it.

I hear you. I’ve lost only two pounds in 3 weeks flwooling Jorge’s sugar/carb guidelines. However, I can see a slight decrease of fat around my belly. I’m going to stick with this diet for a few more weeks and see what happens.I want to offer one suggestion to you start eating low-sugar fruits, such as apples, berries and grapefruit. Fruit is loaded with nutrients and also has fiber, which is important in any weight loss program. Good luck and hang in there!
