I got hit with the flu a few days ago and I had to put my entire life on hold. Being sick made me cancel the lessons I give, kept me out of the gym, even kept me from blogging. With the clients I had scheduled last week, I was going to see some pretty comfortable earnings for December. After I got the flu and ended up cancelling all my appointments, I found myself struggling to get by for the remainder of the month.
Being sick was a huge paradigm shift. Whether it’s being a wage slave or self employed, my finances depend on me directly. If I can’t go to work or make an appointment, I lose money. I knew this was a terrible system to being with, but when I finally got sick, it became a reality. There is no excuse why I shouldn’t have passive income as a long term goal.
Whether it’s owning and renting out a condo, finding a product to sell online, or hiring employee’s to run a small operation, passive income is hands down a more superior system to labor. Not just passive income, but multiple sources of income is ideal. My blog currently doesn’t make shi’t, so I can’t count it as a source yet, but it’s getting there. Once my blog gets bigger and I fix up my ebay store, I’ll have three sources of income. With that being said, if I ever get sick, I’ll have two others to fall back on. If I ever lose internet for a day, I have one to fall back on.
Put all your eggs in one basket and you have to be very careful not to drop it………I dropped my basket this week and I saw the consequences. Good thing I am sensible enough to see reality.
