Powerball Winner! Show me the Money!

Someone is going to be sitting on a gold toilet seat soon enough. Talk about a bonus! Powerball game picked a set of winning numbers Wednesday: 05, 25, 30, 58, 59 and Powerball 32.

Almost $448 million, can you believe that? The powerball is pretty popular, but when the jackpot gets this high, everyone is beasting for that bonus. For a bonus that high, who wouldn’t?!

A recent change in the game has got more people on their toes because of more consistent, big game jackpots. This is very inspiring for lottery enthusiasts. This recent drawing on is not to far off from the $590 million pot won in Florida a few months ago.

Let’s face it, smaller jackpots certainly don’t get people as hyped as they use to. People want some real cash and the Powerball Group agrees.

“We certainly do see what we call jackpot fatigue,” said Chuck Strutt, executive director of the Multi-State Lottery Association. “I’ve been around a long time, and remember when a $10 million jackpot in Illinois brought long lines and people from surrounding states to play that game.” – From USA Today

Tom Romero, CEO of the New Mexico Lottery and chairman of the Powerball Group, agreed.

The change of the powerball from $1 to $2 a ticket was a smart move. There are larger jackpots and more chances for those to win smaller prizes like one or two mil. Shi’t, I’ll take it…. They did lose some players, but they ended up making more money from the change themselves. Isn’t that the goal of any business? They got me sold!
