Dr. Oz has been on a rampage about the dangers of saturated fat. Even with absolutely no scientific basis to stand on, Dr. Oz has still been hardheaded about his claims on saturated fat. Something really strange happened recently though.
On 10/21/2013 Dr. Oz became less of an idiot. There was an awesome episode aired called “Do Carbs Cause Alzheimer’s?” The show featured Dr. David Perlmutter, the author of Grain Brain and a doctor who uses low carb, high fat diets to treat his patients.
Dr Oz Seems to even admit at the end of the segment that he may have been wrong about saturated fat after all these year. I think he’s always known he was wrong, but he’s finally beginning to admit it. He goes on to say:
“Incidentally, cardiologists like myself are starting to buy into this idea, because I think you’re right. What makes us die from heart disease and stroke and Alzheimer’s is inflammation in the body and that’s not caused by fats that we’ve been eating for two and a half million years. It’s caused by new changes in our diet…”
He’s still a jackass, but maybe that’ll change really soon. I respect him a lot more now. Good job Mehmet, I’ll make sure to keep and eye out for you!
